Michael Paradise is a new indie-pop artist from Toronto. The summer of 2018 saw the release of two lead singles that garnered attention from Press and Spotify, solidifying Michael as an indie artist in the Toronto music landscape to keep an eye on. Then in February of 2019, Paradise dropped "gold" and its official video through COMPLEX Magazine landing him on major Spotify playlists and drawing industry attention. Notable traction includes playlisting on Spotify's All New Indie, Indie Pop, Indie All Stars, Evening Commute, and many other large playlists. Press coverage includes everything from COMPLEX, NOW, Indie 88, Savage Thrills, KALTBLUT, IMPOSE, All Access Music, and more. The press traction lead to the single, "lost control", hitting #6 on Hype Machine.
The upcoming EP is slated to be released in the fall of 2019 with the first single "gold" dropping Feb 28th. The initial attention gathered by the lead singles has helped a team form around Michael, with LA/Toronto based management company, Muk Posh bringing him on board. As COMPLEX described, Michael's music "shines bright with shoe-gaze inspired guitar riffs and colourful production." It has been described as "lush and wavy" where the "back and forth exchanges of life dances and discourse are conveyed like something that sails from the dimensions of a mid-spring daydream that we hope never ends" (IMPOSE Magazine). Or as Indie U says, Michael's music is "built for the August's end-of- summer stretch. His warm, midrange croon melts effortlessly into his laidback riffage and downtempo melodies, instantly recalling hazy drives down the PCH or idle days beneath the beachside sun."
